Buy rice at ethnic groceries. Immigrant folks won’t buy bad food or pay outrageous food prices. Asian stores sell 5-lb. bags of good-tasting rice for $3-$4. Rice called “Thai rice” or “jasmine rice” is so good you’ll eat it plain.
Years ago, someone gave me a $10 rice cooker. I said “Thank you” and thought I’d never use it. I use it all the time. I pour in rice and water, plug it in and it cooks perfectly, with no flame, no watching, no boiling over, and no skill.
